Tying up Tomatoes

We grow a variety of tomatoes. There are two major types.  Determinate which tend to have shorter bushier growth and the tomatoes all ripen at nearly the same time.  These are ideal for  tomatoes that one would like to pick and process.into sauce or paste.  .Indeterminate tomatoes tend to grow longer and do not ripen all at once.

Ken has two maintenance jobs for indeterminate tomatoes - he prunes certain side branches off the plant to encourage the plant to produce more tomatoes.

He also has to tie up or clip the tomatoes so they don't flop and break.

Right now we have some tall plants

and some tomatoes that are still green.  With some heat they will ripen soon!
