Nanking Cherries

Years ago we got some Nanking cherry bushes.  They are a cold tolerant sour cherry bush.  The fruit is small, so rather than pit, I got a steam juicer - one of the best investments in kitchen equipment ever made.  The only thing I have replaced is the rubber tube!

Here is a picture of the juicer in process.  Sometimes I sterilize jars and fill as the juice comes out and sometimes I just fill a gallon jar (Ken's technique).   The cherries start the juicing season. We use the juicer for elderberries, apples, raspberries, plums, and grapes.  We also do combos, too.
