Bee Keeping

Ken has bees, and we sell honey.  Periodically he checks the hives.  This week three of the four needed a new box or super on top for more honey.

The bees have been busy in flowers - and we see them pollinating the crops in garden and field.  We encourage not only our bees, but also wild pollinators like bumble bees and mason bees.

Most of our food requires pollination.  Examples include cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, peppers, peas, beans, strawberries, raspberries, melons.
