Asparagus and strawberries

It is the season!  Ken pickled asparagus this morning as we had none left!

And later in the day I sorted through the strawberries for the smaller, seedy or soft berries.  I rinse, core, and slice.  I add about a teaspoon of sugar per pint to make them weep a bit; that makes it easy to seal without air.  I used to freeze whole berries and then place in a zipper bag in the freezer.  I found that convenient, but they had freezer burn much quicker.

We still have asparagus and strawberries for sale.
