In winter we try to create a comfortable outdoor home for the dogs. They prefer to be outside where the action may be - they bark out predatory animals that would eat the poultry, they keep animals out of the garden and yard like the deer, raccoons, skunks, bear, and many more.We have tried all sorts of insulated dog houses and hay bales seem the best - the thick walls are insulating, but breathe to let moisture out. Both dogs can cozy up together and stay out of the wind.
